my approach
What sets me apart from other academic editors is that unlike being hyperfocused on one academic niche, I am an interdisciplinary thinker and learner, as evidenced by my eclectic and accomplished academic background, including a master’s in critical theory from King’s College London.
This interdisciplinary focus has allowed me to excel in my academic pursuits in all subjects and, now, in my editing career. With my highly developed and versatile skill set and diverse range of academic interests and knowledge, I am able to meticulously perfect word- and sentence-level details while keeping in mind the big picture, context, purpose, and goals of your academic research or writing project.
(For more on this topic, see my blog post: Why should I use an interdisciplinary academic editor over a specialist?)
I have edited over 600 academic projects. This experience has equipped me with a keen awareness of the rules, common practices, and high standards of journals, major editing services, and academia generally. In the two years that I have worked at a major international editing service, I have been designated as the Preferred Editor for 48 users, comprising international researchers and scholars in diverse fields, from the humanities and social sciences to the hard sciences and medicine.
I offer comprehensive knowledge and experience, and I believe you should not need to pay inflated publisher prices for precise and professional editing services.
a bit more about me (professionally)
I have always been a voracious learner, reader, and lover of knowledge, and I always knew I would end up close to academia. (the ultra-official career test I took at the end of high school listed my top 2 careers as “librarian” and “professor.”)
I took full advantage of my higher education: I earned three bachelor’s degrees in Comparative Literature, Political Science, and Spanish, all with Honors and Distinction, from Indiana University Bloomington, a highly respected research university and Public Ivy.
Then, I moved to the UK to earn my master’s degree with Merit in Critical Methodologies from King’s College London, one of the world’s most prestigious learning institutions.

Meanwhile, I accumulated professional success in diverse sectors, including law, academia, editing/publishing, the arts, medical research, and more.
For years, I developed a successful professional career in the fast-paced world of private legal practice, where I further cultivated my expertise in editing, writing, and research and eventually ended up at a nationally lauded firm where I worked on cases from Tribal healing courts to the US Supreme Court.
I am proud to now focus my accumulated experience, skills, and knowledge on my passion of academic and English editing.
